We are experimenting with dates and observing how many volts can be obtained from a series of dates connected. 

RHYTHM

We are exploring the sounds produced by rattle drums attached to stepper motors. The speed, displacement, and order of the drums are controlled using a microcontroller and a motor driver.

SOUND OF AN OASIS

Palm fronds are actuated using rotating lever attached to DC motors. The frond leaves are in contacts with other leaves, producing sounds of friction, mimicking the audible sound under palm trees in an oasis under a breeze.

QANUBOT

The plucking on strings of a tradition middle eastern instrument, the qanun, is automated using stepped motors and a custom attachment made. This allows for plucking at speeds not achievable by average humans, creating a unique sound from the strings.
